Day 1 - World Youth Day

In the Steps of Our Founder
Goodbye New York - Hello Paris

Today we picked up our bags and our goodbyes to our family and friends as we began our Pilgrimage - In the Footsteps of Our Founder - World Youth Day. We had some down-time in JFK, but we were able to fill the time with plenty of discussion and excitement. In just a few hours we arrived at Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris, France to start our pilgrimage.

Then we were off! We went by bus, but visited as much of Paris as we could. We travelled swiftly to the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the French Opera House, to the Chapel of St. Catherine Labore (Miraculous Medal), the Church of Saint Vincent DePaul, the Eiffel Tower to name of a few. And then onto a train were we met all 149 Province of Meribah student pilgrims and moderators. The day ended in Bordeaux to spend the beginning of our journey with Blessed William Joseph Chaminade at his burial site and Chapel when the new day comes. Goodnight to all and enjoy the photo montage.
